MILLEDGEVILLE — The Old Governor’s Mansion will feature Civil War era exhibits and lectures throughout October and November. “What We Wore on our Heads: An Exhibition of Civil War Era Headwear” will be on display from Oct. 1 - Nov. 2. “Lincoln: the Constitution and the Civil War” will be on display Oct. 2 - Nov. 15. Mate Masie: “What I Hear I Keep” will be featured at the Sallie Ellis Davis House from Oct. 2 - 30. “Picket’s Charge: A Novel” will be presented by Charles McNair Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.

On Oct. 3 the Milledgeville Area Patriots will host a City Candidate Forum at Victory Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. Everyone in the community is invited. For more information call Janice Westmoreland at 478-387-5316.

Allied Arts will host fall workshops and classes. On Oct. 3 an architecture and history class geared toward youth 10 and older will be offered. For more information call 478-452-3950 or visit www.milledgevillealliedarts.com. Allied Arts will also host the exhibition Speaking Highly of the South by Stan Strickland from Oct. 6 - Nov. 15. A reception from 1-3 p.m. will be held Oct. 6.

Andalusia Farm’s ninth annual Bluegrass concert will be held on the front lawn Oct. 5 from 5-8 p.m. Heart Pine will be featured this year and admission is only $5. One-mile guided tours will be offered at 4. Bring your own food or enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers at the event.

The Helping Hands Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will hold its annual fundraiser at the Milledgeville Country Club. There will be a buffet dinner and silent and live auctions. Tickets are $30 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling 478-452-2421. All funds raised are used to helped the needy of Baldwin County.

The annual Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery Day will be held at the Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery in Wilkinson County on Oct. 6. Please come and bring a picnic lunch to enjoy around 12:30 p.m.  Everyone who would like to attend is welcome including past donors, new donors and community members. CGTC will offer a Soils Education Seminar on Oct. 9 for a fee of $99. The seminar will be taught by Thomas Macfie of Soil Science Inc. For more information contact Brent Rosencrantz at 478-445-2307.

The Oconee Regional Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert, Piano Passion, on Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. at Russell Auditorium.
