MILLEDGEVILLE — Childre Nissan of Milledgeville is partnering with Georgia Cancer Support (GCS) to host a Sell-A-Thon fundraiser this week through Saturday to benefit area cancer patients. The community is invited to stop by the dealership to test drive a vehicle for a chance to win various prizes. Families are welcome to enjoy boiled peanuts, popcorn, refreshments, face painting, children activities and a live remote with Z97 FM. With the help of volunteers, a Phone-A-Thon will kick off at 9 a.m. Saturday to help promote the fundraiser. For every vehicle sold, Nissan will donate $100 to GCS.

Allied Arts will host fall workshops and classes. On Sept. 21 a watercolor painting workshop will be given. For more information call 478-452-3950 or visit www.milledgevillealliedarts.com.

The GUMFest Arts & Crafts Fair will be held Sept. 20-21 at 121 Gordon St., Gray. The Fair will be open Friday 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Rep. Paul Broun will host a Military Academy Day on Sept. 21 from 10 a.m.-noon in the Old Georgia Capitol Building of Georgia Military College. The event is free and open to students grades eight through twelve. The BHS School Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. at BHS on Sept. 23. The PTO will hold its first meeting at 6 in the Little Theatre. Membership dues are $5. Exemplary student work will be on display and students will be recognized for honors received thus far this school year.
