MILLEDGEVILLE — )The Sallie Ellis Davis Cultural Center will host workshops highlighting Southern culture during the month of April. April 2 through 6 a ceramics class taught by Josh Green will be held each morning from 8 to 10. The course fee is $15 for ages 10 and up. A gourd art class hosted by Carol Babb will be held April 4 through 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. The class is $25 per session for ages 10 and up. Each class has a limit of 20 students. During the month of April the Twin Lakes Library System will celebrate Patron Appreciation Month (PAM). Celebration plans include: Amnesty, you could be eligible to save 50-100 percent on your library fees; Wall of Original Works (WOW), a showcase original writing and art submitted by patrons; Poem In Your Pocket, unique bookmarks of favorite and original poetry by library staff distributed on April 26. The Special Olympics will be held April 10 at the Baldwin High School field at 10 a.m. Volunteers are needed to help with the event, those needed are huggers, timers, escorts, cheerers and more. If you would like to volunteer contact Shannon New-Diaz at (478) 445-2509 or sanew@dhr.state.ga.us.

Baldwin County Schools will hold kindergarten registration for children 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013. Registration will be held weekdays March 18-29 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Birth certificate, proof of residence, current immunization form, eye, ear and dental forms and a social security card are required. April 6, 13, 20, and 27 IMPACT pre-service training classes to become a foster or adoptive parent will take place. The class is free and available to families from Baldwin, Jones, Putnam, Twiggs and Wilkinson counties. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jones County DFCS, 141 James St., Gray. Belk is currently recruiting local non-profit groups to participate in its semi-annual Charity Sale Fundraiser on April 27. Any non-profit organization with 501c3 status is eligible. Participating charities raise money by selling tickets for $5 each, which entitles purchasers to attend a private 4-hour sale. The entire $5 from every ticket sold goes to the participating charity so it's a great fund-raising opportunity for your church, school or community organization. Georgia’s Fifth Annual Antebellum Trail Pilgrimage will take place from April 18 through April 21. The 100-mile Antebellum Trail spans seven historically significant communities including Athens, Watkinsville, Madison, Eatonton, Milledgeville, Gray/Old Clinton and Macon. Tickets can be purchased at any of the Welcome Centers along the trail prior to and during the Pilgrimage or online at www.atpilgrimage.com. Tickets for the Pilgrimage are $25. Groups of 10 or more receive discounted tickets at $20.

10 a.m. to noon: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. 6 p.m.: Digital Bridges, Stories through Art will have poetry readings and storytelling during the First Friday Celebration. The mural and collages created during the workshops will also be displayed.
