June 3 through July 19 the Baldwin County Nutrition Department provides free meals to children. (No meals will be served July 4-5.) The meals will be served at Baldwin High School, Monday through Friday. Breakfast is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and lunch is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A school bus will deliver and serve lunch to the following sites: Graham Homes, 11 a.m.; Duplex City, 11:25 a.m.; GNETS, 11:45 a.m.; River Bend Apartments, 12:10 p.m.; The Manor, 12:40 p.m.; Finnagan’s Mobile Home Park, 1:05 p.m.; 5th Street Mobile Home Park, 1:30 p.m.; and Lockwood Mobile Home Park, 1:50 p.m. Any child up to age 18 may eat free. The Milledgeville Golf Association will have an Open House on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to teach children ages eight through 16 the game of golf. Applications are available from any member of the association or by visiting Little Fishing Creek golf course. June 15 and 22 the Kappa League will hold a Karwash/Yard Sale at Century Bank on North Columbia Street. All proceeds from the event will be sent to Moore, Okla. in support of tornado victims.

Central State Hospital Local Redevelopment Authority has partnered with Z97 to host a free concert open to the Milledgeville community in hopes of providing a fun, family friendly experience. The concert will be held June 22 at Central State Hospital’s Pecan Grove. Free Lance Ruckus and Fall Line Ramblers will be performing while Metropolis Café and Baldwin Fire Rescue provide food, snacks and nonalcoholic beverages during the entertainment. Guests are welcome to pack their own picnic basket and blanket, or guests can purchase an eight-person table for $20 or $5 for couples for more comfortable seating arrangements. The event will begin at 5 and will conclude around 9 p.m. Fall Line Ramblers are scheduled to perform at 5:30. Free Lance Ruckus will pick up at 7:30. Throughout June the Animal Rescue Foundation Inc. (ARF) will hold a cat adoption special. The adoption fee special is $25 for teenage and adult cats that have been at the shelter since before May 20. ARF is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. ARF is located at 711 S. 10:30 a.m.: The Oconee Master Gardeners Association, in cooperation with UGA Cooperative Extension, will present Advanced Food Preservation. Extension Agent Keith Fielder will discuss different methods of preserving the fruits and vegetables that are coming into season. He will also talk about food safety issues. The presentation will be held at the Baldwin County Extension Office, 320 Linda Drive. The presentation is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
10:30 a.m. to noon: Free computer classes for seniors will be held at the Senior Citizens Center in Baldwin County.
Noon: Milledgeville Exchange Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club.
