MILLEDGEVILLE — The Old Governor’s Mansion will feature Civil War era exhibits and lectures throughout October and November. “What We Wore on our Heads: An Exhibition of Civil War Era Headwear” will be on display from Oct. 1 - Nov. 2. “Lincoln: the Constitution and the Civil War” will be on display Oct. 2 - Nov. 15. Mate Masie: “What I Hear I Keep” will be featured at the Sallie Ellis Davis House from Oct. 2 - 30. “Picket’s Charge: A Novel” will be presented by Charles McNair Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.

Allied Arts will host the exhibition Speaking Highly of the South by Stan Strickland from Oct. 6 - Nov. 15. A reception from 1-3 p.m. will be held Oct. 6.

The annual Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery Day will be held at the Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery in Wilkinson County on Oct. 6. Please come and bring a picnic lunch to enjoy around 12:30 p.m.  Everyone who would like to attend is welcome including past donors, new donors and community members. The Oconee Regional Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert, Piano Passion, on Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. at Russell Auditorium.

A Harvest Festival and Petting Zoo will be held on Oct. 27 starting at 9:45 a.m. at New Vision COGIC, 941 Dunlap Road. There will be food and prizes.

Wednesday, Oct. 9

7:30 a.m.: Lake Oconee Promise Keepers meets at The River of Life center on Scott Road. Jack Minchey 706-473-0431.

10:30 a.m.-noon: Free computer classes for seniors will be held at the Senior Citizens Center in Baldwin County.

Noon: Milledgeville Exchange Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club.

1 p.m.: Falun Gong exercise class will be held at Central City Park (formerly Bonner Park) free of charge. Cultivate mind and body with five sets of easy-to-learn exercises good for all ages and all physical conditions. For more information call 478-453-4241.

1-3 p.m.: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. 6 p.m.: Goldwing Road Riders Association Georgia Chapter 1 meets at the Golden Corral on North Columbia Street. Dinner is followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. All bikers and biker enthusiasts may attend.
