June 22 the Kappa League will hold a Karwash/Yard Sale at Century Bank on North Columbia Street. All proceeds from the event will be sent to Moore, Okla. in support of tornado victims.

The Sallie Ellis Davis Cultural Arts Center presents A Credit to the Race: The Presence, Problems and Portrayal of African-Americans at Work. Movies will be shown as part of the event. On June 25 “Nothing But A Man” will be played. On June 27 at 6 p.m. Dr. Mark Huddle will present the Juneteenth Lecture.

Central State Hospital Local Redevelopment Authority has partnered with Z97 to host a free concert open to the Milledgeville community in hopes of providing a fun, family friendly experience. The concert will be held June 22 at Central State Hospital's Pecan Grove. Free Lance Ruckus and Fall Line Ramblers will be performing. The event will begin at 5 and will conclude around 9 p.m. Throughout June the Animal Rescue Foundation Inc. (ARF) will hold a cat adoption special. The adoption fee special is $25 for teenage and adult cats that have been at the shelter since before May 20. ARF is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m. ARF is located at 711 S. Maddox Investing in America Inc. will provide free sack lunches to children in low-income areas on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. Volunteers are needed to help package and deliver the lunches. To volunteer call Timothy and Tarneshia Maddox at 478-696-0112 or 478-234-9283.

June 3 - July 19 the Baldwin County Nutrition Department will provide free meals to children. (No meals will be served July 4-5.) The meals will be served at Baldwin High School, Monday - Friday. Breakfast is from 7:30 - 9 a.m. and lunch is from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. A school bus will also deliver and serve lunches throughout the community. Monday, June 24

Noon - 4 p.m.: Harriet's Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center. 5 - 7 p.m.: Mary Vinson Memorial Library and Digital Bridges host a Computer Clinic at the Library, 151 S. Jefferson St. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. 5:30 p.m.: Milledgeville-Baldwin County Development Authority meets in the Chamber of Commerce office.

6 p.m.: Survivors of Suicide meet at River Edge Behavioral Center on Blandy Road (just past Flooring America on the left). For more information call Leanne Branch 478-451-2740.

6 p.m.: “The Mourning After” bereavement group sponsored by Hospice Care Options is held in the Hospice Care Options Conference Room, located at 811 N. Cobb St. The event is free and open to the public. 478-453-8572.

7 - 9 p.m.: A community bike project will be held at the Milledgeville Fire Department on W. Thomas St. Bikes will be repaired by volunteers and given to those in greatest need in the community. The event is co-sponsored by Milledgeville Cares, Inc. and the Milledgeville Fire Department. Donations of all usable bikes and bike parts will be accepted at the station on Thomas Street any time. High school age and adult volunteers are needed to repair bikes. Adam Heagy of Oconee Outfitters will teach the class. Tools will be provided or available at cost for individual's kits (optional). 7 p.m.: BINGO is held at the American Legion on Log Cabin Road. No one under the age of 18 is permitted. Refreshments are sold by the Ladies Auxiliary. 478-452-8538.

7:30 p.m.: The Oconee River Buskers Square Dance Club meets at the Walter B. Williams Recreation Center. 

7:30 p.m.: Milledgeville Jaycees meet at Walter B. Williams Jr. Park.
