MILLEDGEVILLE — The Milledgeville Players are holding auditions June 18 -20 at 6:30 p.m. Vocal/dance auditions will be Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday auditions will concentrate on speaking roles.

June 22 the Kappa League will hold a Karwash/Yard Sale at Century Bank on North Columbia Street. All proceeds from the event will be sent to Moore, Okla. in support of tornado victims.

The Sallie Ellis Davis Cultural Arts Center presents A Credit to the Race: The Presence, Problems and Portrayal of African-Americans at Work. Movies will be shown as part of the event. On June 25 “Nothing But A Man” will be played. On June 27 at 6 p.m. Dr. Mark Huddle will present the Juneteenth Lecture.

Allied Arts will sponsor an Adult Printmaking Workshop on Thursday, June 20 from 6 - 9 p.m. in the Allen's Market Building. Call 478-452-3950 or visit www.milledgevillealliedarts.com.

Central State Hospital Local Redevelopment Authority has partnered with Z97 to host a free concert open to the Milledgeville community in hopes of providing a fun, family friendly experience. The concert will be held June 22 at Central State Hospital's Pecan Grove. Free Lance Ruckus and Fall Line Ramblers will be performing. The event will begin at 5 and will conclude around 9 p.m. Throughout June the Animal Rescue Foundation Inc. (ARF) will hold a cat adoption special. The adoption fee special is $25 for teenage and adult cats that have been at the shelter since before May 20. ARF is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m. ARF is located at 711 S. Maddox Investing in America Inc. will provide free sack lunches to children in low-income areas on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. Volunteers are needed to help package and deliver the lunches. To volunteer call Timothy and Tarneshia Maddox at 478-696-0112 or 478-234-9283.

June 3 - July 19 the Baldwin County Nutrition Department will provide free meals to children. (No meals will be served July 4-5.) The meals will be served at Baldwin High School, Monday - Friday. Breakfast is from 7:30 - 9 a.m. and lunch is from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. A school bus will also deliver and serve lunches throughout the community. Wednesday, June 19

7:30 a.m.: Lake Oconee Promise Keepers meets at The River of Life center on Scott Road. Jack Minchey 706-473-0431.

10 a.m.: The American Legion “Davis Watson” Post 237, Hardwick, meets in the Birdsong Recreation Building at the Georgia War Veterans Home, 2249 Vinson Hwy. S.E. All Legion members are urged to attend. For more information call John W. Griffin, Sixth District Commander at 478-453-0295.

10:30 a.m.-noon: Free computer classes for seniors will be held at the Senior Citizens Center in Baldwin County.

10:30 a.m.: VIP, a support group for visually impaired persons, meets at the First Presbyterian Church, 210 S. Wayne St. 478-452-1444.

Noon: Milledgeville Exchange Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club.

1 p.m.: Falun Gong exercise class will be held at Central City Park (formerly Bonner Park) free of charge. Cultivate mind and body with 5 sets of easy-to-learn exercises good for all ages and all physical conditions. For more information call 478-453-4241.

1 - 3 p.m.: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge.
