MILLEDGEVILLE — A motorcycle ride for The Donald E. Roach Sr. ALS Fund will take place on Aug. 10 at 8:30 a.m., beginning at the Milledgeville Mall. The event is to help raise money to assist Roach with getting a wheelchair accessible van. There is also a savings fund at MidSouth Credit Union under the name: Donald E. Roach Sr. ALS Fund. The Milledgeville Area Community Theatre for Youth will begin fall session on Aug. 13 and meet each Tuesday. Session I will be from 3-4 p.m. for ages 6-11 and Session II will be from 4:15-5:30 p.m. for ages 11 and up. Registration will be accepted through Aug. 12. The Girl Scouts will hold Parent Meetings at 6 p.m. Aug. 13 at Blandy Hills and Aug. 22 at Midway. A parent or legal guardian must accompany each girl. The Fifth Annual Old Capitol City Classic 5K Road Race and 1-Mile Fun Run is accepting pre-registration until Aug. 21.
