Crime Digest January 10, 2013


The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office


A man reported a break-in at his Belfair Drive residence and the theft of a 37-inch flat screen TV Jan. 1. When returning from work around 5:45 p.m. he noticed the window located behind the sofa was broken and the flat screen was removed from the shelf mount. 

Milledgeville Police Department

Damage to Property

An employee at a North Columbia Street restaurant reported that the wall next to the front door of the establishment was damaged during a physical altercation between two men Jan. 1 around 1:57 a.m. 

Theft by Shoplifting

A Walmart Loss Prevention employee reported the theft of a pair of shoes by a woman around 3:12 p.m. on Jan. 4. The woman was seen taking the shoes out of the box and placing them in a shopping bag. 

Theft by Shoplifting

A Walmart Loss Prevention employee reported the theft of a pair of jeans, a set of iPod earbuds, and a PS3 video game by a juvenile Jan. 4. 

Criminal Damage to Property

Officers responded to a call of to juveniles throwing objects at the windows of a Sussex Drive home Jan. 4. Upon inspection of the damage, the officer noticed that the screen door at the home had been cut and the rear glass door had been broken in several pieces. The real estate company was contacted regarding the incident.
