MILLEDGEVILLE — On Friday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m., Milledgeville’s Town and Country Garden Club will unveil a Blue Star Memorial Marker at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Highway S.E.

Flu vaccines are now available at the Baldwin County Health Department. They will offer both the traditional flu shot and Flu Mist, which is a nasal spray. Vaccines will cost $25 but are available at no charge to those on Medicaid, Peachcare, Wellcare, Amerigroup, Medicare Part B, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia or a State Benefit Plan through United Healthcare or Cigna. Flu vaccines will also be offered in the schools this year. Parents will receive permission slips from their child’s school in the coming weeks.

The Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber presents Eggs & Issues “The State of Education” from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Oct. 30 at Crockett’s Family Restaurant on North Columbia Street. Baldwin County Board of Education Superintendent Geneva Braziel will present “The State of Education” sharing the successes and challenges of our public school system. This session will also provide a forum to address the impact on our business community and identify partnership opportunities. Tickets cost $10 each or $75 for a table of eight; seating is limited. Saturday, Oct. 27

8:30 a.m.: The Zeta Omicron Chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma and the Animal Rescue Foundation will host “Prowl in the Park,” a 5K run and a one mile Pet Walk to raise money and awareness for the local Humane Society and the American Diabetes Association. Those participating in the run will turn in pledges and check in from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. and the race will begin at 9:30 a.m. Pet walk participants will register and turn in pledges from 9 to 10:15 a.m. The walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. Registration for the 5K is $20 and $10 for the Pet Walk. The event will take place at the Oconee River Greenway Park and Riverwalk.

9 a.m.: Yoga at the Greenway every Saturday morning. Bring a yoga mat and/or towel. All ages welcome. A $1 to $5 donation is appreciated. For more information, call (478) 973-9767.

9 a.m. to noon: The Fall Line Farmers Market is now open every Saturday morning in the parking lot behind First Presbyterian Church, 210 S. Wayne Street rain or shine. More than a dozen middle-Georgia farmers and producers who live in a 100-mile radius of Milledgeville sell a wide selection of naturally grown, seasonal vegetables; grass-fed beef and lamb; heritage breed pork; free-range eggs; hormone-free dairy products including butter and yogurt; artisan bread and cheese; local honey and preserves; baked goods including specialty cakes; perennial plants and more. Come sample, browse and take advantage of the opportunity to meet and talk with folks who are passionate about providing locally grown, delicious food. 5 to 8 p.m.: The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton, will host a “Voices of the Grave” Historic Cemetery Tour. A light supper will take place before transportation is provided to Pine Grove Cemetery, where a guided walking tour begins. Tours leave every 30 minutes and you are able to choose your time when you purchase your ticket. The $25 ticket includes supper and the tour. Golf carts will be available for those needing assistance within the cemetery. All proceeds benefit the Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation and the Eatonton-Putnam Historical Society.

Sunday, Oct. 28

2 to 6 p.m.: NattyCoco, Natural Confident Confirmed, presents The Middle Georgia Natural Experience, an expo that will take place at La Fete, 571 N.W. Hammock Road. The expo will feature: healthy living, pampering, hair care education, shopping, food, entertainment and photo and video opportunities. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, they can be purchased online at nattycoco.com or at Professional Hair Design, 923 N.
