MILLEDGEVILLE — Flu vaccines are now available at the Baldwin County Health Department. They will offer both the traditional flu shot and Flu Mist, which is a nasal spray. Vaccines will cost $25 but are available at no charge to those on Medicaid, Peachcare, Wellcare, Amerigroup, Medicare Part B, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia or a State Benefit Plan through United Healthcare or Cigna. Flu vaccines will also be offered in the schools this year. Parents will receive permission slips from their child’s school in the coming weeks.

Tickets for the Haunted Trolley Tour are on sale at the Milledgeville Convention and Visitor Bureau, 200 W. Hancock St. Tickets are becoming rare quickly.

Learning In Retirement will host a Lunch & Learn at Milledgeville Country Club at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19. Poet Laureate of Georgia, Judson Mitcham, will be the featured speaker, and the public is invited to attend. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased by Friday, Oct. 12. Checks should be made out to LIR-GC&SU. Tickets can be purchased at the Milledgeville Country Club or by mailing your check to Anne Collier, 169 Lakeshore Circle, NE, Milledgeville, GA 31061.

Oconee Regional Healthcare Foundation’s “An Evening in Paris” will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Centennial Center on the GC Campus. Tickets are $125 each and can be purchased by calling (478) 456-9866.

Middle Georgia Art Association is taking submissions for the judged exhibit “Harvest Time.” Entrants must be 18 or older and out of high school. The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16. For more information, call (478) 744-9557 or e-mail middlegeorgiaart@bellsouth.net.

The Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber presents Eggs & Issues “The State of Education” from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Oct. 30 at Crockett’s Family Restaurant on North Columbia Street. Baldwin County Board of Education Superintendent Geneva Braziel will present “The State of Education” sharing the successes and challenges of our public school system. This session will also provide a forum to address the impact on our business community and identify partnership opportunities. Tickets cost $10 each or $75 for a table of eight; seating is limited.
