MILLEDGEVILLE — A community trip to Casino Drive in Cherokee, N.C. will take place on Saturday, July 20. Transportation will be provided and the group will leave at 8 a.m. from the Piggly Wiggly on the Southside. June 3-July 19 the Baldwin County Nutrition Department will provide free meals to children. (No meals will be served July 4-5.) The meals will be served at Baldwin High School, Monday-Friday. Breakfast is from 7:30-9 a.m. and lunch is from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. A school bus will also deliver and serve lunches throughout the community. July 1-Aug. 31 PapaJohn’s Pizza will donate $1 to Georgia Cancer Support Group every time someone makes an online order with the promotional code: GCS10. Maddox Investing in America Inc. will provide free sack lunches to children in low-income areas on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. Volunteers are needed to help package and deliver the lunches. To volunteer call Timothy and Tarneshia Maddox at 478-696-0112 or 478-234-9283.

Communities In Schools has partnered with Baldwin Family Connection to hold a School Uniform Drive until July 31. New and gently used clothing will help provide uniforms to students in need. Acceptable clothing items are: khaki, black or navy pants and white, navy, red or black shirts with collars. Clothes can be dropped off Monday-Thursday at the Board of Education, Communities In Schools (GC, 101 Chappell Hall), Northridge Christian Church (after July 7) and First United Methodist Church.



Tuesday, July 2

10:30 a.m.: A Senior Olympic badminton club will be held at the Baldwin County Recreation Department gym.

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Cafe Central is open every Tuesday at Freedom Church in Milledgeville. A free meal will be served to everyone who comes. For information on volunteering, call 478-453-4400.

12:30 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Plaza Arts Center, 305 N. Madison Ave. in Eatonton. For more information contact Betty Roper at 706-467-3079.

12:45 p.m.: The Milledgeville Kiwanis Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club. Visitors are welcome to the program and to lunch with a club sponsor.

3-5 p.m.: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. 4-7 p.m.: The Milledgeville Marketplace Farmers Market is held at 222 E. Hancock Street in Downtown Milledgeville (Next to the Golden Pantry). Free parking available. Call 478-414-4014 for information.

5:15 and 6 p.m.: The County Commission meets in the Baldwin County Courthouse in Rm. 319 for a Work Session followed by the regular Commission Meeting.

6:30 p.m.: The Milledgeville Area Patriots meet at Victory Baptist Church on Meriwether Road. The meeting is open to the public.

6:30 p.m.: American Legion Auxiliary Post 523 meets at 430 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. All members are urged to attend.

7 p.m.: The Sweet Georgia Sound Sweet Adeline Chorus meets at Vineville Christian Towers to practice, socialize and sing. It is for women only. 478-932-5387.
