MILLEDGEVILLE — The Oconee Valley Iris Club will hold its annual Iris Plant Sale at the Milledgeville Mall Sept. 13 from noon - 5 p.m and Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. All plants wil be $5.

Mark the Magic Man will host two shows on Sept. 14 at the W.E. Knox Civic Center, Gray, at 3 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and VIP tickets are available. Proceeds will benefit the Help Camden Foundation.

Allied Arts will host fall workshops and classes. On Sept. 19 a class will be offered to tour the permanent collection and is geared toward youth 10 and older. On Sept. 21 a watercolor painting workshop will be given. For more information call 478-452-3950 or visit www.milledgevillealliedarts.com.

Rep. Paul Broun will host a Military Academy Day on Sept. 21 from 10 a.m.-noon in the Old Georgia Capitol Building of Georgia Military College. The event is free and open to students grades eight through twelve. The BHS School Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. at BHS on Sept. 23. The PTO will hold its first meeting at 6 in the Little Theatre. Membership dues are $5. Exemplary student work will be on display and students will be recognized for honors received thus far this school year.

10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Harriet's Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists at Oconee Regional Medical Center. 11:45 a.m.: The Civitan Club of Baldwin County meets second and fourth Thursdays at the Golden Corral. Civitan's main thrust worldwide is helping the physically and/or mentally challenged. 5 p.m.: The Historic Preservation Commission meets at City Hall.

5:30 p.m.: American Legion Post 6, 231 Log Cabin Road, will host Patriots Day and 9-11 Remembrance. The event will begin with a Meet and Greet followed by dinner at 6. Local first responders will be honored and four youth essay writers will be recognized.

5:30 p.m.: The Baldwin Christian Learning Center holds its monthly meeting at Hope Lutheran Church.

7 p.m.: The Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies Auxiliary of Post 6686 in Eatonton meets at the Post home, 793 Monticello Road. Dinner is provided and is followed by the meeting.
