MILLEDGEVILLE — The Old Governor’s Mansion presents its Christmas at the Mansion tours Nov. 27 and Dec. 3-23. Candlelight tours will feature: Music by Sweet Georgia Sound (Dec. 7), the Milledgeville Singers Guild (Dec. 14), the First Baptist Church Handbell Choir (Dec. 19). On Dec. 11 from 1 to 3:15 p.m. the Max Noah singers will perform in the rotunda.

Milledgeville Main Street introduces Downtown Dollars, gift certificates to support local businesses. They can be purchased in denominations of $5 and can be used at more than 30 locations downtown. They will be available starting Nov. 25 and can be purchased in the Main Street office, 127 E. Hancock St. For a list of participating merchants visit the Main Street Facebook.

The 2012 Georgia River of Words exhibition is open and available for viewing from now until early December at the Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St. River of Words is an international environmental poetry and arts project that is coordinated by Georgia Project WET and the Georgia Center for the Book. 10 a.m.: Oconee Valley Family YMCA meets at People's Bank at Harmony Road and Highway 44.

Noon-4 p.m.: Harriet's Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists at Oconee Regional Medical Center.
