MILLEDGEVILLE — Milledgeville Area Community Theatre for Youth (ACT) will begin its winter sessions on Tuesday, Jan. 7 and meet each Tuesday from 3 to 4 p.m. for ages 6-11 and Session II for ages 11 and up from 4 to 5:30 pm in the Allen’s Market Building, 101 West McIntosh St., Milledgeville. Space is limited to twenty-five students. Registration is $10 for the eight-week session and is open to all youth ages 6 - 11 and session II for children 11 years and up who are interested in any aspect of theater. Registrations will be accepted through Monday. Classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 7 in the Allen’s Market Building. Milledgeville Main Street introduces Downtown Dollars, gift certificates to support local businesses. They can be purchased in denominations of $5 and can be used at more than 30 locations downtown. They can be purchased in the Main Street office, 127 E. Hancock St. For a list of participating merchants visit the Main Street Facebook.

Creekside Elementary is having a winter coat drive and is collecting new and gently used coats for children’s size six and adult small. Please drop off coats at the Communities in Schools office at Creekside or call the coordinator, Mrs. Specht, at 478-456-3127.
