The Exchange Club of Milledgeville Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Milledgeville at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. Applications are available by calling Roc Patel at (478) 452-2335, or by contacting any Exchange Club member.

Saturday, Nov. 21

9 a.m.: Plantation Quilters meet at the visitor center at Jarrell Plantation near Juliette. Dues are $10 a year. Bretta Perkins (478) 986-5172

9 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton hosts Art @ the Rock. The juried art show will include the following art forms: clay, drawings, paintings, graphic art, fiber/leather, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography and wood. Musicians will provide entertainment and local crafts and homegrown creations will be sold. A chili and chowder lunch prepared by the chefs at Rock Eagle, along with other food and beverages, will be available. Art @ the Rock is a product of the growth of the annual Sunset Farm Art Festival held near Madison. For more information on the event, call (706) 484-2873.

9 a.m. to noon: Milledgeville’s Lockerly Arboretum offers a 3-hour class on Holiday Decorating with Natural Materials. Admission is $15 per person and reservations are required. Open to the public. Call (478) 452-2112 for more information.

7 p.m.: Rock Eagle’s last 2009 Family Adventure session will be held at the Rock Eagle Center Natural History Museum in Eatonton. The Rock Eagle staff will take participants on a night hike through our woods and discover the various night life. Afterwards, enjoy a campfire with hot chocolate, songs, and story time. Dress warm. Registration is required and the cost is $5 per adults, $3 for children 5-12 years old and free for children 4 years and younger. To register please call Kelly Scott at (706) 484-2834.

8 p.m.: The Theatre Program at Georgia College & State University continues its amazing new season Dreaming Global Justice with José Rivera’s Sueño in Russell Auditorium. Sueño is a steampunk adaptation of a 17th century Spanish play that asks questions about fate, justice, and life choices. The performance is only for mature audiences due to language. Tickets are $13 for general seating, $9 for GCSU faculty and staff, non-GCSU students and senior citizens and $5 for GCSU students. Group rates are available. 8 p.m.: The Milledgeville Players in partnership with Allied Arts presents “Smoke on the Mountain,” a lively tale of survival and hope peppered with twenty-seven gospel tunes set in the depression days of the 1930’s. The reserve tickets only performance will be held at Allen’s Market Building, 102 W. McIntosh St. Tickets are $10 each and are available at Allied Arts, 201 N. Wayne St. from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Credit card purchases can be made at the Milledgeville Players ticket hotline at (478) 314-4054. 11 a.m.: St. Luke Baptist Church in Sparta celebrates its 106th church anniversary. The Rev. J.C. Richardson of Roberta will speak. Dinner will be served. The community is invited to attend.
