The Exchange Club of Milledgeville Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Milledgeville at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. Applications are available by calling Roc Patel at (478) 452-2335, or by contacting any Exchange Club member.

Friday, Nov. 20

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Allied Arts will be accepting entries for the third annual Big Click Photography Contest and Exhibition at the Marlor Arts Center, 201 N. Wayne St. The exhibition is open to adult photographers in Central Georgia who may enter a maximum of two photographs each. All photographs entered will be exhibited and cash awards will be given to the First, Second, and Third Place entries. 10 a.m.: Learning in Retirement holds a board meeting in the University Banquet Room on the GCSU campus.

11:15 a.m.: Learning in Retirement holds a Lunch and Learn session in the University Banquet Room on the GCSU Campus. Associate Professor Beate Czogalla will speak. Her presentation is titled “Way Out There: Current mission, people and NASAs future in space exploration.” The cost of lunch is $7.65 payable at the door. Visitors are welcome to attend.

6 p.m.: The Old Capitol Area Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) meets in the Georgia Military College Dining Room. Social hour will begin at 6 followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The agenda for the evening will be a business meeting and the installation of the chapter’s 2010 slate of officers. Following the business portion of the meeting, Don Nau will update the members on the changes at the Atlanta USO and talk about the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association. 8 p.m.: The Milledgeville Players in partnership with Allied Arts presents “Smoke on the Mountain,” a lively tale of survival and hope peppered with twenty-seven gospel tunes set in the depression days of the 1930’s. The reserve tickets only performance will be held at Allen’s Market Building, 102 W. McIntosh St. Tickets are $10 each and are available at Allied Arts, 201 N. Wayne St. from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Credit card purchases can be made at the Milledgeville Players ticket hotline at (478) 314-4054. 8 p.m.: The Theatre Program at Georgia College & State University continues its amazing new season Dreaming Global Justice with José Rivera's Sueño in Russell Auditorium. Sueño is a steampunk adaptation of a 17th century Spanish play that asks questions about fate, justice, and life choices. The performance is only for mature audiences due to language. Tickets are $13 for general seating, $9 for GCSU faculty and staff, non-GCSU students and senior citizens and $5 for GCSU students. Group rates are available. 11 p.m.: Country rocker Brantley Gilbert, a native of Jefferson, will be performing at Capitol City, 117 S. Wayne St. Call (478) 453-4896 for more ticketing information.

Saturday, Nov. 21

9 a.m.: Plantation Quilters meet at the visitor center at Jarrell Plantation near Juliette. Dues are $10 a year. Bretta Perkins (478) 986-5172

9 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton hosts Art @ the Rock. The juried art show will include the following art forms: clay, drawings, paintings, graphic art, fiber/leather, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography and wood. Musicians will provide entertainment and local crafts and homegrown creations will be sold. A chili and chowder lunch prepared by the chefs at Rock Eagle, along with other food and beverages, will be available. Art @ the Rock is a product of the growth of the annual Sunset Farm Art Festival held near Madison. For more information on the event, call (706) 484-2873.

9 a.m. to noon: Milledgeville's Lockerly Arboretum offers a 3-hour class on Holiday Decorating with Natural Materials. Admission is $15 per person and reservations are required. Open to the public. Call (478) 452-2112 for more information.
