The Exchange Club of Milledgeville Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Milledgeville at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Applications are available by calling Roc Patel at (478) 452-2335, or by contacting any Exchange Club member.

Friday, Nov. 13

11 a.m.: Baldwin County Board of Commissioners holds a health, environment, recreation and conservation committee meeting in Suite 319 of the Baldwin County Courthouse.

2 p.m.: The Oconee Community Service Board holds a called meeting. For more information, contact Dena Hamby at (478) 445-4817.

7 p.m.: A Noteworthy Review: An evening of music from Bach to Broadway will be presented by Creative Expressions in the Arts and Sciences Auditorium on the GCSU campus. Performers with disabilities and those without present an evening of musical selections from works throughout history. Join us as the Harmonettes Handbell Choir, Music in Motion Sign Language Group, Good Vibrations Drumming Ensemble, Circular Motion Dancers and the Harmonettes Vocal Choir take us on a journey through different musical times and musical styles. This event is free and open to the public. Donations towards the program are welcome.

Saturday, Nov. 14

8 a.m.: The 100 Black Men of Milledgeville and Baldwin County meet at the Allen’s Market building on Wayne Street.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The Oconee Regional Chapter of Project Linus meets in the Education Center of Park Tower at Oconee Regional Medical Center. The Chapter is open to anyone who wants to provide needy children with a comforting blanket. Attendees should bring their lunch.

10 a.m.: The Milledgeville Amateur Radio testing team conducts licensing tests for all three license levels at the Mary Vinson Library. Walk-ins are welcome. (478) 452-6394

11 a.m. to noon: Milledgeville's Lockerly Arboretum presents a lecture titled Heirloom Bulbs for Southern Gardens. The Junior Gardener's program for children aged 9-12 will also be offered at that time, and the arboretum will be holding a special fall plant sale event throughout the day. Free and open to the public. For more information more call (478) 452-2112.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: A barbecue fundraiser will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 220 S. Wayne St. Tickets are $6 each and available in advance by calling (478) 454-8654. A limited number of plates will be sold on-site.

1 to 4 p.m.: The Oconee Valley Iris Club holds its annual Fall Iris show at the Milledgeville Mall. The theme of the show is “The Miracle of Fall”. Awards will be given in Horticultural and Artistic categories for both adults and youth. There will also be a special “People’s Choice Award” given to one artistic arrangement voted best by the public. Entries will be accepted at the center front door of the Milledgeville Mall from 9 to 10:45 a.m. and judging will begin at 11 a.m. The show is free and open to the public.
