In a time of emergency, blue address signs help fire, police and EMS locate homes. Baldwin County Fire Rescue would like residents of Baldwin County to know they have signs on sale for $10 and signs with posts for $15. To pick up a sign, come by either Station 1, at 312 Allen Memorial Drive in Hardwick, or Station 2, 261 Mobley Road on the Central State Hospital campus. (478) 445-4421.

9 a.m.: Baldwin County Senior Olympics holds the track portion event at the Baldwin County Recreational Department Soccer Field off Highway 212. Call (706) 923-0787 or (478) 445-0785 for additional information.

11 a.m.: Baldwin County Senior Olympics holds the basketball, softball and football toss portion of the Senior Olympics at the Baldwin County Recreation Department Gymnasium. No medals will be presented for this event. Call (706) 923-0787 or (478) 445-0785 for additional information.

11:15 a.m.: Learning in Retirement holds election of officers and luncheon at the Milledgeville Country Club. Jim Garner of Lockerly Arboretum will speak. For reservations, call the LIR office at (478) 445-1239.

6:30 p.m.: The Old Capitol Area Chapter of The Military Officers Association of America meets at the Georgia Military College dining hall.

7 p.m.: The Old Capitol Area Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) will meet at the Georgia Military College Lake Lot off of Log Cabin Road. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m.  All military officers and their spouses are welcome to attend. For reservations please contact Ed Moore at (478) 454-4031.

Saturday, May 16

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Baldwin High School class of 1990 holds a car wash at Rock’s Cork Shoppe, 1887 N. Columbia St. For more information, contact Troy Spires at (478) 457-7737.

9 a.m.: Plantation Quilters meet at the visitor center at Jarrell Plantation near Juliette. Dues are $10 a year. Bretta Perkins (478) 986-5172

10 a.m.: The Milledgeville Cruisers is presenting its Second Annual Bike Show from 10:00 a.m. to 7 a.m. at the Milledgeville Mall. The public is cordially invited to attend, admission is free!! For those wishing to participate in the show, the entry fee is $15.00 per bike. Judging will be held in the sports, touring, custom, trike and best in show categories.
