MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. Entering Auto

At approximately 7:53 a.m. Sept. 3, an officer was dispatched to a muffler shop on South Elbert Street in regards to an unknown person entering a customer’s vehicle. The complainant stated that he left his shop at around midnight Aug. 31 where the victim’s car was parked, unlocked. When he returned Sept. 3, he noticed that the tarp on top of the vehicle had been moved. Upon further inspection, he also discovered that the passenger’s side window was shattered, the radio had been removed, the driver’s side panel was missing, and the speakers on both sides of the car had been removed.

Theft by Taking

A Kmart loss prevention personnel member reported ongoing theft of items by two female employees over the course of approximately five months. The two women have been taking redemption points from store customers and using them to buy gift cards. He also stated that they have been taking items that have been damaged or returned and scanning them in and out to receive the money back for the items. The two women admitted to taking approximately $1,000 each from the store.
