MILLEDGEVILLE — Theft by Shoplifting

A Wal-Mart loss prevention employee reported the theft of merchandise by a man and a woman Aug. 24. The man and woman were seen placing a 39-inch flat screen television in a store buggy and passing the last point of sale without paying. When confronted outside of the store about the receipt for the television, the two subjects left the TV in front of the store, got into their vehicle and drove away. The employee made noted of the car tag and turned it over to the police.

Entering Auto

Officers were dispatched to a Oak Avenue address Aug. 23 in reference to an entering auto call. Upon arrival they met with the complainant who stated that she noticed that her purse and two DVD headrest players were taken from her car sometime during the night of Aug. 22.

Burglary

Officers were dispatched to a Pritchard Street residence at approximately 8:37 p.m. Aug. 23 in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated that someone broke into her home and took items from the living room area. A Sony stereo with black speakers and an unknown number of DVDs and CDs were reported missing.

DUI-alcohol

A patrol unit observed a vehicle make a wide turn from the Golden Pantry parking lot onto Jefferson Street Aug. 25. The officer followed the vehicle and saw that the driver quickly accelerated onto E. McIntosh Street. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the officer noticed that the driver’s eyes were red and glassy. After conducting a field sobriety test, the driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Criminal Damage to Property

A woman reported damage to her husband’s vehicle by four males Aug. 24. According to the woman, while standing outside of her Perry Drive residence, she noticed four males approach the home. They began shooting pellet guns at her husband’s truck. Officers observed eight to 10 small dents in the passenger's side of the truck that were consistent with pellets.
