Criminal Damage to Property
The owner of a North Columbia Street pawn shop reported damage to the building sometime before Aug. 18. When she received the call about the damage from one of her employees, the owner went outside and noticed that an unknown person had possibly backed a vehicle into the south side of the building.
An officer was dispatched to a car accident in the area of North Columbia Street and Log Cabin Road Aug. 18. The officer noticed that the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident was acting odd. Making sure that the man did not have a concussion, the officer began questioning him about the accident. While questioning him, he detected a strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. After consenting to a field sobriety test, the man was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
Theft by Shoplifting
A Wal-Mart loss prevention employee reported the theft of store merchandise by three females Aug. 18. The women were seen taking several items and hiding them under their shirts.
