Driving Under the Influence
Deputies conducted a Georgia Highway safety checkpoint April 25 at the intersection of Fifth and South Main streets. While at the checkpoint a man driving a white Kia Sportage drove up with a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. During a roadside test, the driver exceeded the legal amount for driving under the influence of alcohol and received a citation for DUI.
Damage to Property
A woman at a South Wayne Street grocery store reported damage to her vehicle sometime before 4:28 p.m. April 26. The woman told the deputy that while she was shopping for grocery someone scratched her white Toyota Camry.
