MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Theft by Taking

A man reported the theft of his weed eater April 14. On April 12 he noticed that the Poulan brand weed eater was missing from the back of his truck. He last used the item while working at a residence located near North Pickens Street near the intersection of Montgomery Street.

Criminal Damage to Property

April 14 at about 9:18 p.m. an officer met with a man at a West McIntosh Street address in reference to a woman damaging his pool table. He informed the officer that the woman, his ex-girlfriend, had broken his hardwood 8 foot pool table and thrown the pieces into the woods. When questioned by police via phone, the woman admitted that she did break the pool table due to a disagreement between the two as to when his items from the apartment would be moved out.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

DUI alcohol

While patrolling the area of North Columbia Street April 11 around 1:07 a.m. a deputy observed a gray Dodge Magnum speeding at 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. A pursuit of the vehicle crossed into Putnam County. After pulling the car over in the parking lot of a Putnam County business, the deputy observed the strong smell of alcohol coming from the driver. The driver registered .131 on the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath test and was issued citations for DUI and speeding.

Theft by Taking

A deputy was dispatched to an Ivey Weaver Road address April 13 in reference to the theft of lawn maintenance equipment.  The man told the deputy that sometime during the past week, he discovered someone had stolen his red Murray push mower valued at $50.

Theft by Taking

A woman reported the theft of her wallet April 10. The woman told the deputy that someone stole her wallet containing $20 in cash from her Old Williamsburg Road residence sometime after April 7. The last people seen in her home were her boyfriend and her neighbor's brother. She suspected the neighbor's brother had taken the wallet because her boyfriend informed her that he saw him with $20 in his sock later that same day.
