MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Theft by Taking


Deputies were dispatched to a Kings Road address Aug. 1 in reference to a stolen pistol. Upon arrival they met with the complainant who stated that his wife found his granddaughter holding his .38 caliber pistol and talking on the telephone July 31. The man took the weapon and hid it in the pocket of his jacket. At approximately 3:33 p.m. Aug. 1 the weapon went missing.

Entering Auto

A woman reported that sometime during the afternoon of Aug. 1 an unknown person entered her mother-in-law’s car. She noticed that the glove compartment had been opened and the interior of the vehicle was in disarray. No items were reported missing.

Burglary

Deputies were dispatched to an Old Monticello Road address July 31 in reference to a burglary. The owner of the property stated that he noticed several items of jewelry missing from his dresser. He said that he has been home the entire time and believes that the burglary happened sometime while he was asleep.

Burglary

Deputies were dispatched to a Lilac Drive residence in reference to a prowler outside the residence April 3. Upon arrival, officers discovered damage to the front door. The owner of the residence reported that someone knocked on the front door, rang the doorbell and shined a light through the living room window of the home. After no one answered, the unknown person popped open a window and entered the home.

Obstruction of Officers

While serving a warrant at a Milledgeville Manor address Aug. 1, a man was charged with obstruction of officers. The officers were allowed entry into the home to serve the warrant but the subject was found hid under a pile of clothes in the closet. He was served with 10 outstanding warrants and one count of misdemeanor obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
