MILLEDGEVILLE — Nuisance Animal

A man reported that he had been chased by a dog while running in the area of Arbor Way May 6. The owner of the Husky informed officers that the dog was usually kept inside the backyard fence, but was continually finding ways to escape. The owner was issued a citation for leash law.

Criminal Attempt to Commit Theft by Taking

A man reported the attempted theft of a deer stand May 5 at the intersection of Lumpkin Road and Ga. Highway 212. The owner of the property discovered that the tripod deer stand had been moved several hundred yards away from where he had it placed. Upon further investigation, he noticed that the stand was wedged between two trees where an unknown person or persons tried to conceal it with several limbs and debris.

Criminal Trespass

While patrolling the area of Jefferson Street a deputy observed a man standing on the lawn of Milledgeville Manor Apartments around 11:18 p.m. May 5. When the man saw the officer he began walking quickly behind one of the apartment buildings. Upon making contact with the individual, the man gave the officer a false name. Another deputy in the area recognized the man and was able to properly identify him as a man who was recently charged with criminal trespass in the same area on a previous date.
