MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Theft by Taking

An individual reported the theft of his chainsaw Oct. 26 after he had given the tool to someone to have it repaired.

Simple Battery

A man was arrested and charged with simple battery Oct. 27 after it was confirmed that he had provoked a woman and then struck her in the face.

Theft by Taking

A homeowner on Old Plantation Road reported Oct. 23 that two people moving out of his residence had stolen various craft items while he was in the hospital.

Criminal Damage to Property

Officers responded to a call about a physical altercation Oct. 25. It was reported that when an individual drove to a home on Jackson Street the homeowner threw chairs at the vehicle, damaging the windshield and scratching the paint. A tussle ensued. Neither party wished to press charges but a statement was taken from the woman who threw the chairs indicating that she would pay for the damages to the vehicle.

Theft by Taking

A man reported Oct. 26 that his Sea-Doo trailer had been stolen from where it had been parked for sale.

Driving While License Suspended

Officers initiated a traffic stop Oct. 26 after observing a driver without a seatbelt. The driver’s license had been suspended and she was arrested and issued a citation for driving while license suspended and seatbelt requirement.
