 Fraud

A woman reported Oct. 1 that she was contacted by a claims agency representing Verizon Wireless regarding a $2,700 bill. The individual stated that she was unaware of the bill and contacted the Verizon Wireless Fraud Department. She reported that Verizon informed her the account was created in Conyers.

 Fraud

An individual reported Oct. 8 that someone had falsely created an AT&T account in his name with an outstanding balance of $1,600.

Pointing a gun at another

An individual reported Oct. 6 that while driving on Ga. Highway 22 he was tailgated. He reported that when stopped at a red light the driver of the car behind him got out and approached the vehicle. He stated that he sped off because the light turned green but the car continued to follow him. When the car passed the driver pointed a pistol at the car’s occupants.

Driving while license suspended

An individual was pulled over Oct. 7 for passing in a no pass zone. The driver stated he did not have a license and was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Office.

Marijuana possession

Patrol pulled a vehicle over for maximum limit speeding Oct. 4, and during the stop asked the driver if he was in possession of any illegal contraband. The driver confirmed he had marijuana and was taken into custody. He was charged with marijuana less than an ounce and maximum limits.

Financial identity fraud

A woman reported Oct. 7 that someone had used her information to falsely purchase a cell phone at Walmart.

Burglary

A business on North Wayne Street reported Oct. 8 that it had been entered unlawfully. Nothing was taken or disturbed.

Marijuana possession

During a vehicle safety check Oct. 9 an officer noticed the smell of marijuana. When asked to step out of the vehicle, the passenger attempted to chew and swallow a small baggy of marijuana. The individual was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
