MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.



Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Fictitious Check

A business on Vinson Highway reported Nov. 7 that an individual had cashed a fictitious check worth $4,840.23.

Theft by Taking

An individual reported Nov. 18 that his wallet was stolen while he was at a store North Jefferson Street. An individual was seen taking the wallet on security footage.


A man reported Nov. 17 that his pistol was stolen from where it had been kept at his mother's house.


Milledgeville Police Department

Entering Auto

Two individuals reported Nov. 28 that their vehicles had been entered while parked at their residences on East Hancock Street. Various items were stolen including musical equipment, laundry, CDs gift certificates, a credit car and a death certificate.

Theft by Taking

An individual reported Nov. 28 that her cell phone was stolen when she briefly laid it and its case down on a cooler in a business on North Columbia Street.

Public Drunk

Two individuals were arrested and charged with public drunkenness Nov. 29 after arguing in public at a residence on N. Lincoln Street.

Simple Battery Against a Police Officer

A man was arrested and charged with public drunkenness, willful obstruction of law enforcement and simple battery against a police officer after an MPD officer approached him in a business to assess a call about his behavior.

Theft by Taking

An individual reported Nov. 29 that $1,500 cash was stolen from him when he left the money in an envelope on a table in a business for approximately 20 minutes.
