A man reported a break-in at his mother’s South Jefferson Street home April 29. The man told deputies that he bought his mother a silver necklace in March for her birthday. On April 29, the woman noticed that the necklace was missing from her residence. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered a damaged deadbolt lock on the door of the home.

Deputies were dispatched to an Edwards Street apartment in reference to a burglary around 3:58 p.m. May 6. The client staying in the apartment told officers that a man knocked on her door and told her that he was the maintenance man and that he needed to come inside. The woman refused to open the door and called 911. While speaking with dispatch, she noticed the man taking a TV and a DVD/VCR combo out of the living room of the apartment next to hers.
