MILLEDGEVILLE — Fraud

A woman reported that someone obtained a cell phone from Verizon in her name. She received a call from Verizon around 11:09 a.m. March 14 in regards to the new cell phone and service.

Criminal trespass  

A man was arrested for criminal trespass after continuous harassment of an employee of an East Hancock Street restaurant. During work on March 15, the man approached the female employee and asked for money. She told the man that she would give him $3. When walking to her car after work, she found the man again. The woman filed a report with the sheriff’s office.

Fraud

A woman reported that someone obtained a cell phone from Verizon in her name. She received a call from Verizon around 11:09 a.m. March 14 in regards to the new cell phone and service.

Theft by taking

A man reported the theft of a purse by a male from his friend’s vehicle at a North Columbia Street car wash March 15. The man told police that another car pulled up beside his friend’s car, and the passenger jumped out and grabbed the purse from the vehicle. Security footage at the car wash recorded the theft.

Burglary

Officers responded to a call of a break-in at a Grandview Drive apartment March 18. A man informed officers that sometime between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. someone entered his residence through a front window and stole two gold and diamond rings.
