Crime Digest

MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Burglary

Deputies were dispatched to a Highway 212 convenience store at approximately 3:36 a.m. July 13 in reference to an alarm sounding. Upon arrival, officers noticed an unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot. They also observed a large rock lying on the floor of the store in front of a broken door window. The subject left a circular saw by the ATM machine in the store.

Criminal Damage to Property

Deputies were dispatched to a South Jefferson Street address July 13 in reference to criminal damage to property. The complainant told deputies that she was awakened around 10:20 p.m. by a neighbor who advised her that there were several deep scratches all over her vehicle. Deputies observed scratches on both sides of the car, on the hood, and on the trunk.

Burglary

On July 14 at approximately 2:06 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a Vinson Highway address in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival they met with the complainant who stated that when he checked on his home he noticed his cigarette roller was out of place. The cabinets in the laundry room were also open. He believed a family member had broken into the residence. Both of his laptop computers were reported missing.

Theft by Taking

A woman reported the theft of Murray push mower from her Hardwick Street residence at approximately 6:45 a.m. July 12. She stated when she woke up that morning, she discovered the mower was missing and the screen had been cut where the mower was stored.

Milledgeville Police Department

Entering Auto

Officers were dispatched to the engineering building at Georgia Military College July 12 in reference to a subject entering various vehicles. Upon arrival, they met with a GMC security guard who stated that she observed an individual walking around the parking lot checking various vehicles for unlocked doors. The man was seen taking a black trash bag out of the toolbox of one of the vehicles.

Burglary

A woman reported a break-in at her Magnolia Avenue home on July 11. She stated when she arrived home from work, her children informed her that they saw an unknown man fleeing the house. The woman’s son chased the man but was unable to apprehend him. Items in the drawers were thrown onto the floor as if the subject was searching for a specific item. A handgun was reported missing from the residence.
