MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office
A man who owns property in the area of Gordon Highway reported an attempted theft occurring sometime before April 23. The man told the deputy that on April 22 his father went to check the property and found two males attempting to take an AC window unit. He added that the men were driving a gray Mazda truck.
Theft by Taking
Deputies reported to a SW Irwinton Road address around 1 p.m. April 28 in reference to a stolen vehicle. The owner of the car told deputies that his gold Chrysler LHS has not been returned to him. He said that the man who was living with him borrowed the car. The vehicle was recovered on Fifth Street and turned over to the owner. The man who borrowed the car was issued a stay away order.
On April 27 a deputy reported to a home in the 100 block of Old Montgomeryville Road in reference to the theft of a dryer. The owner told the deputy that someone kicked open the back door of his home and took a white Maytag dryer.
Theft by Taking
A man at a Merry Drive address reported the theft of his welding machine sometime before April 26. He told the deputy that around noon he noticed that his Lincoln Welder with Kohler motor was missing. He said the machine was sitting on two cement blocks in the front yard next to a trailer when he last saw it.
