Milledgeville Police Department
Criminal Damage to Property
On April 23 a business owner at a Heritage Place address reported damage to a collection of signs. The man said he suspected the person he rents the office space from is responsible for the damage. He told the officer that his rent was paid up until April 1, but because of a recent death in the family, he has been unable to attend to moving belongings out of the rented space. When he went to the building the night of April 23 he noticed the locks on the door had been changed and his big fluorescent sign located at the entrance of the building had been pulled down. A second sign, which was located to the left of North Columbia Street, was torn into pieces and left to the side of the building. The third sign, which was on private property, had been placed inside the building.
A man reported that an unknown person had entered a church located on the 400 block of West Franklin Street and caused damage to items within the pavilion. On April 24 at about 12:38 p.m. police met with one of the deacons of the church. He told the officer that one of the outdoor ceiling fans in the pavilion had been damaged. He also pointed out that the globe and lights had been broken out.
