Theft by taking
Deputies were dispatched to a Sparta Highway address around 3:30 a.m. April 12 in reference to an accident and the theft of a cellphone. While investigating a crash that occurred in front of a residence in the 300 block of Sparta Highway, a witness to the accident told deputies that one of the occupants of the car stole his phone. He said a man knocked on his door and asked to use his cellphone to call the ambulance for help. After receiving the phone, the man walked into the backyard of the residence and didn't return. After an investigation, the man was located at the hospital being treated for minor injuries. The cellphone was not located.

Theft by Taking
On April 17 at approximately 9:49 a.m. officers reported to a coffeehouse on North Columbia Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival they spoke with an employee who said a man was seen stealing the tip jar from the drive through area. He said a man wearing a red hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes ran up to the drive through window grabbed the tip jar then headed across North Columbia Street.
