The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.
An Anthony Way NE resident reported Feb. 12 that while he was out of state for more than a week someone appeared to have been sleeping in his bed and had taken $800 cash from the apartment.
Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement
When officers responded to suspected drug activity on Sherry Circle they became involved in an altercation. Officers approached a vehicle containing three individuals and the driver exited the car despite being told to remain seated. A physical scuffle ensued and the driver was restrained. The two passengers fled the scene during the fight. The driver was arrested and charged with criminal interference with government property and felony obstruction of an officer.
An employee of a North Columbia Street business reported Feb. 12 that someone had written vulgar messages on merchandise shelving.
Officers reported to a residence on North Wayne Street Feb. 12 and located a basement door that appeared to have been kicked in.
Theft by Taking
A resident of Vinson Highway reported Feb. 13 that someone had taken $25 from his room.
A North Columbia Street business reported Feb. 14 that someone had gained entry and cut the lock off of a safe. Nothing was reported missing.
Theft by Taking
A man reported Feb. 14 that after leaving his phone on a table at the mall to go look at merchandise he returned to find his phone taken.
A man was arrested Feb. 11 and charged with disorderly conduct after cussing out a police officer.
