While patrolling on Ga. Highway 49 June 22 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated for a vehicle traveling at an accelerated speed. A radar check was activated revealing the vehicle was traveling 72 mph in a 55 mph speed limit area.
Deputies were dispatched to a Harrisburg Road location June 24 in reference to a fight in progress. While en route, a deputy saw one of the subjects fleeing the area on foot. When the man was stopped by law enforcement, he threw something in the nearby bushes. The man was described as one of the subjects in question and was arrested. Upon arriving to the location of the call, the other male subject was searched. Witnesses informed deputies that the man had a rifle in his possession. A Colt Sporter AR-15 .223 caliber rifle was found inside the location.
Driving while license suspended
While on patrol on Irwinton Road on June 22, a vehicle was observed crossing over the center line of the highway. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the deputy discovered that the driver’s license was suspended for failure to appear in court.
Deputies were dispatched to a Log Cabin Road apartment around 9:42 p.m. June 23 in reference to disorderly conduct. While en route dispatch advised that the complainant stated that a young male was cursing and banging on his front door. Upon arrival deputies made contact with the subject and smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from him.
