Milledgeville Police Department
Police reported to an apartment on West Thomas Circle April 23 in reference to a burglary in progress call. Once at the address, the officers approached the rear of the residence and discovered that a rear bedroom window screen had been cut and the window had been pried open. They also noticed a bent blade kitchen knife lying outside of the window. Once inside, officers could hear someone moving around in the residence. The man tried to run out of the front door but was stopped by police. No items were reported missing from the apartment.
On April 23 around 11:02 a.m. a woman at a Cline Avenue address reported witnessing her ex-boyfriend attempting to steal an AC unit from her neighbor's home. She told police that she watched the man remove a window AC unit from the outside of a residence in the 300 block of Cline Avenue. She added he had stayed at her home the night before and told her the next day that he was walking to the store. When looking outside to see where he was walking she observed the theft at approximately 10:45 a.m. She described the man as wearing blue jeans and a white neck brace at the time of the theft.
