MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.
Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office
A deputy reported to a home around 11 a.m. April 20 in the 2000 block of Irwinton Road in reference to an entering auto incident. A man told the deputy two speakers and an amp were taken from the trunk of a vehicle he was working on. He added that he noticed a piece of wood on the ground beside the car. When he went outside to remove the wood he saw the trunk was open. The man was asked to get in contact with the owner of the vehicle for further information.
Deputies were dispatched to a Sinclair Marina Road home in reference to a burglary that occurred sometime before April 20. The owner told deputies that she left for work around 8:40 p.m. and returned to check on her home around 3 a.m. while on break. Once there she noticed the rear door was wide open and her front porch light had been turned on. Further investigation by police revealed pry marks to the outside of the rear door. A 32-inch led flat screen TV was reported missing from the living room area of the home.
Theft by Taking
A woman reported the theft of a power tool from her Central Avenue residence April 20. She told the deputy that after hearing a noise on the side of her house, she peered out the window and saw a man with her son’s bicycle and her husband’s Dewalt 20 volt power drill in his hand. The woman yelled for the man to put down her son’s bike. She reported that he dropped the bike and ran toward Fifth Street with the drill in his hand.
