MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.



Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Theft by Taking

A Simpson-Proctor Lane resident reported Feb. 22 that someone stole a pistol from inside her home.

Forgery

A pharmacy reported Feb. 25 that a woman attempted to fill a fraudulent prescription for hydrocodone and tramadol.

Possession

During a highway safety check Feb. 21 the passenger of a vehicle was searched and found to be in possession of four baggies of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Criminal Trespass

An Ivey Drive resident reported Feb. 23 that during an altercation with a former roommate property was thrown out of the apartment and damaged.

Simple Battery

A woman reported that another individual pushed her and dragged her across the floor during an altercation Feb. 22.

Aggravated Battery

An individual was transported by EMS to Macon Medical Center Feb. 22 after officers responded to a call about a stabbing. The injured individual's left eye was out of its socket. No arrests were made due to conflicting statements.

n Driving While Unlicensed

Officers pulled over to the side of Ga. Highway 22 West Feb. 17 after seeing a vehicle with its hood up. One individual on scene was arrested because of an active probation warrant. A second was arrested for driving while unlicensed.

Theft of Service

Warrants for an individual wanted for theft of service and interfering with property of a public utility company were taken out Feb. 21. The individual had stolen $769.56 worth of services from Georgia Power.

Simple Battery

A woman reported that during a verbal altercation a man grabbed her around the throat.

Driving While Unlicensed

Officers stopped a vehicle when they observed a driver they knew to have a suspended license. Dispatch confirmed the driver was unlicensed, and he was arrested and charged.

Driving While License Suspended

A man was arrested Feb. 18 after officers observed him driving a vehicle with a broken tail light. He was charged with that offense as well as driving with a suspended license.

Loud Music From Vehicle

An officer initiated a traffic stop after hearing loud music coming from a vehicle. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Aggravated Assault

An Irwinton Road family reported Feb. 24 that while they were in their den someone shot into their home.

Burglary

A Lumpkin Road resident reported Feb. 24 that someone stole approximately $800 from her home.

Theft by Taking

A Vinson Highway resident reported that an air compressor was stolen from his home Feb. 25.

Theft by Taking

A vehicle owner reported Feb. 25 that an inoperable vehicle had been removed from a driveway it had been pushed to without her permission.

Theft by Taking

An Irwinton Road resident reported Feb. 27 that someone stole several items from her home, including two laptops, a drill, a lamp, soap and two printers.

Possession

Officers went to a Brook Street home Feb. 27 in an attempt to serve a warrant. While at the residence they arrested an individual for possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
