MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Damage to Property

A Felton Drive homeowner reported Feb. 20 that a school system vehicle brushed his basketball goal, bending the rim and shattering the backboard glass.

Obstruction of Officers

Officers observed a vehicle intentionally entering a parking lot and turn away from a safety checkpoint and followed in their vehicles. When the vehicle stopped the driver got out and attempted to walk away. Officers advised him to stop but he ran. The driver eventually stopped running and was taken into custody. He was charged with he following: two counts of obstruction of an officer, driving under the influence, driving while unlicensed, driving without headlights. A warrant was also served.

Theft by Taking

A Felton Drive resident reported Feb. 23 that someone stole her vehicle from her driveway. The vehicle was later found after the driver was pulled over for failure to maintain lane.

Theft by Taking

An Ivey Drive resident reported that a vehicle was stolen from property Feb. 21.


An individual reported that someone had been using his credit card after he attempted to close it out.

Obstruction of Officers

An individual in the Baldwin County Sheriff's Law Enforcement Center dormitories was issued a warrant for felony obstruction of law enforcement after he refused to obey instructions. He was physically detained and handcuffed to be placed in isolation.
