MILLEDGEVILLE — Simple Battery

An employee of a North Columbia Street store reported being physically harassed by an unknown man July 5 and July 6. The woman stated that on July 5, the man walked up to her at the cash register in the store and made a rude comment to her. She ignored the comment and continued working. When leaving work, the man grabbed her shirt and began tugging on it. She pushed the man off of her and contacted the police. A similar incident occurred in the parking lot the following night in which the man jumped out of a car and began pulling on her shirt again.

Criminal Damage to Property

A woman at an Anthony Way apartment reported finding a small bullet hole in her window around 5 p.m. July 12. She stated that when she raised the blinds to a window in her apartment she noticed a small hole the size of a BB pellet.

Burglary

Underage Possession of Alcohol

While patrolling the area of West Greene Street July 13 an officer noticed a man walking down the sidewalk making an obscene gesture in the direction of the officer. Upon initiating a citizen’s contact, the man informed the officer that he did not know why he made the gesture toward him. The officer could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the man.

DUI-alcohol

While assisting officers at a safety checkpoint at the intersection of West Greene Street and South Liberty Street an officer came in contact with an intoxicated driver. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the driver mocked the officer by repeating his greeting back to him verbatim. When questioned on whether or not if he had been drinking, the driver responded by saying that he had not consumed any alcoholic beverages. After performing a field sobriety test, the officer concluded that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Burglary

The owner of a South Elbert Street restaurant reported a break-in July 10. The complainant stated that sometime during the previous night, an unknown person(s) entered his business through the rear door. He noticed that the cash register had been pried open and the safe was missing. One hundred forty-six dollars in cash was reported missing from the cash register. The safe contained approximately $30 in cash inside.
