The Union-Recorder


A woman reported that her husband forged her signature on an old check of hers and cashed it at a Vinson Highway grocery store sometime before Feb. 27. When the woman attempted to cash a check at the store, a picture of her husband came up on the cash register’s computer screen. The store clerk informed the woman that her husband had come into the store on a previous date and cashed a check in her name.


A man reported a break-in at his Sportsman’s Club Road residence March 1 around 3 p.m. Upon inspection of the property the owner noticed that the entire home had been ransacked with paper and debris.

Theft by taking

A man reported the theft of several items from the front yard of his Glenn Road residence between Jan. 15 and Feb. 23. He does not live at the residence on a regular bases, but during his periodic check of the property, he noticed a significant number of tools and materials missing from the yard.

Simple battery

Deputies were dispatched to Sinclair Christian Academy in reference to a report of a physical altercation at approximately 11:20 a.m. March 3. During a basketball game the referee reported that another man began cursing at him. He then proceeded to push the referee. The man was escorted out of the gym by other parents and a notice of trespass was issued.
