MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office


Deputies were dispatched to Hancock Street July 28 to assist Milledgeville Police Department units and Georgia College police units with the search for an extremely intoxicated female that had run away from her friends. While gathering information on the description of the female, a vehicle pulled up to all police units with the driver shouting threats at the police officers. Upon initiating a traffic stop on South Wayne Street the deputy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the man’s breath. After conducting a roadside sobriety test, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Criminal Damage to Property

Deputies were dispatched to a Horace Veal Road address at approximately 11:30 a.m. July 26 in reference to damage to property. Upon arrival deputies met with the owner of the vehicle who stated that upon returning to her home after spending the night with a friend, she discovered several scratch marks on both sides of her vehicle.

Disorderly Conduct

Officers were dispatched to a West Thomas Street address July 26 in reference to a disorderly person at the location. Upon arrival, officers observed a man kicking the front door of the residence. When questioned as to why he was kicking the door, the man began yelling at the officers that he was not going to allow them to arrest him. After yelling obscenities at the officers, he was handcuffed and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

Theft by Shoplifting

An employee of a jewelry store in the Milledgeville Mall reported the theft of jewelry by a female at approximately 5:09 p.m. July 25. The woman was seen placing a pair of earrings and a bracelet into a cup that she was carrying around the store.


Entering Auto

A woman reported that an unknown person broke into her vehicle while it was parked at her Doles Boulevard address July 26. She stated that when she heard a noise outside of her home, she went outside to investigate. She noticed the interior light of her minivan was on. A man was going through her vehicle but ran away once he saw her. No items were reported missing.
