MILLEDGEVILLE — The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Milledgeville Police Department

Deposit Account Fraud

A North Columbia Street bank reported Nov. 5 that someone attempted to cash a fictitious payroll check from a business in Atlanta.

Criminal Trespass

A woman reported Nov. 8 that while her vehicle was parked at a residence on Briarcliff Road a window was broken out.

Criminal Trespass

The passenger’s side mirror and windshield of a vehicle were reported damaged Nov. 8 after a woman allowed two individuals to drive the vehicle.

Driving While License Suspended

An individual was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license after officers responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Nov. 9.

Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement

An individual was arrested and charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement, possession of alcohol as a minor, public drunk and public indecency on Nov. 9. The man ran from officers after he was ordered to stop urinating on the side of a building on East Hancock Street. He attempted to evade officers by going into a business.

Criminal Damage to Property

A man reported Nov. 9 that a hole had been drilled into the door of his vehicle beneath the door handle.

Simple Battery

A man was injured after another individual shoved him and knocked him to the ground outside a business downtown Nov. 9.

Marijuana

Officers arrested an individual Nov. 10 during a safety road check at the intersection of Montgomery and Elbert streets. The man’s eyes were glazed and an odor of marijuana came from the car. He provided the officers with a baggy of marijuana when asked and was charged with possession less than one ounce.
