MILLEDGEVILLE — Reports from the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office for the day.



The following is information compiled from public records taken from reports of the Milledgeville Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. It is our policy to not disclose the names of victims. These reports do not reflect guilt or innocence. An “arrest” does not always indicate incarceration. The charges filed are noted in the narrative.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office

Entering Auto

Deputies were dispatched to an Old Stage Drive residence May 14 in reference to an entering auto call. A man reported that a handgun was taken from his truck sometime between April 25 and May 14. He last saw the gun in the vehicle while cutting grass at his rental property on Allen Memorial Drive. The doors were left unlocked while he was working.

Entering Auto

A woman reported that someone took her Dell laptop computer from her vehicle sometime between 2 p.m. May 12 and 8:30 p.m. May 13. The woman went to go retrieve a laptop bag she purchased May 12 at the Milledgeville Mall from her car and discovered that her laptop along with the case was missing. There was no visible damage on the vehicle and the woman told deputies that she believed she left the door unlocked when she parked.

Criminal Damage to Property

A woman at a Cicada Drive residence reported damage to her vehicle sometime between 10:30 p.m. May 13 and 10 a.m. May 14. While attempting to leave home to go to work, the woman noticed several scratches and brown paint spots on her vehicle. She told deputies that she had a similar incident happen to her while in a past relationship.

Burglary

Deputies responded to a report of a burglary at a Maplewood Avenue home May 14. Upon arrival deputies spoke with the complainant who said that his book bag containing an iPad 2 and Beats by Dre headphones had been missing from the kitchen table of the residence since May 10. A friend mentioned to him that two men approached him earlier trying to sell the exact same items.

Theft by Taking

A man reported that a 7x16 Hooper utility trailer, registered to his deceased brother, was stolen from his family’s property on Ga. Highway 24. The trailer had been inoperable for some time, but was recently repaired. The man said the only people who knew of the repair were two relatives who lived out of town and his neighbor.
