MILLEDGEVILLE — Criminal Damage to Property

Officers were dispatched to an East Hancock Street convenience store May 12 in reference to damage to property. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a man who said that while he was traveling westbound on East Hancock Street he saw a man standing on the side the road with an unidentified object in his hand. As he passed the man, he heard a thud against his truck. When he pulled into the parking lot of the store he noticed a crack in the passenger’s side of his truck’s windshield.

Criminal Damage to Property

At approximately 9:38 p.m. May 12 officers arrived in the area of East Hancock Street in reference to complaints of an individual throwing rocks at vehicles as they passed. A woman told officers that her vehicle was hit by a handful of rocks. She pulled into the parking lot of the Huddle House to inspect it and discovered that the windshield was cracked all the way across and multiple scratches and dents were observed on the hood. Dispatch informed officers that they received a similar call from the same location 10 minutes earlier from another complainant.

Driving Under the Influence

While conducting a highway safety check May 12 in the area of North Elbert Street and East Montgomery Street, officers stopped a male driver who had slurred speech. Upon further investigation, officers smelled a moderate odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. After administering a portable breath test to the driver, the man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Simple Battery

A woman reported seeing a man strike another man with a pistol May 12 in the area of Roberson Mill Road. According to the woman, in the middle of the altercation between the two men, one man struck the other with a pistol then jumped into his vehicle and drove away. The victim then got into his car and left the scene.
