MILLEDGEVILLE — Public Drunkenness

Deputies were dispatched to a Gordon Highway address at approximately 4:44 p.m. May 7 in reference to an alleged verbal altercation. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a man riding in the middle of the street on a bicycle, being loud and belligerent. The man told officers that he had consumed several beers already and that he was arguing with his mother because she refused to give him money to purchase more alcohol. Dispatch informed officers that multiple calls had come in regarding the man being belligerent and trying to chase people in the road on his bicycle when they passed by.  

Criminal Trespass

Officers were dispatched to a Sussex Drive address May 7 in reference to a criminal trespass and damage to property call. A woman told officers that when she walked outside to her car, she noticed the side mirrors of her vehicle were knocked off and there were scratches on her windshield.

Burglary

Officers were dispatched to a Lake Drive apartment at approximately 5:10 p.m. May 7 in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the client of the apartment who told police that someone kicked in the back door to her apartment. A dress was reported missing from the residence.

Theft by Shoplifting

An employee of Belk department store reported the theft of several perfume and cologne gift sets by two females May 6. The loss prevention employee stated that while he was making his rounds in the store, he noticed several perfume and cologne gift boxes had been opened and the contents removed. The store surveillance video showed two females walking up to the counter, grabbing the gift boxes, then walking to the back of the store to open them and conceal the contents under their clothing.

Theft by Shoplifting

A Walmart loss prevention employee reported the theft of $60.60 worth of merchandise by a female May 5. The woman paid for items in her buggy but concealed various items in her purse. She tried to leave the last point of sale without paying for the merchandise that was concealed.
