Theft by Shoplifting
Deputies were dispatched to an Irwinton Road clothing store May 3 in reference to the theft of several items of clothing by two females. A store employee informed officers that she noticed the two women had a large amount of clothes with them that they wanted to try on in the dressing room. When leaving the dressing room, the women had on several layers of clothing that they didn’t have on earlier.
A woman reported that two of her neighbor’s dogs were running loose in the neighborhood and being very aggressive to her two children. She informed deputies that the dogs approached her Russwood Road property and killed her ducks and chickens. They also nipped at her daughter’s arm.
Criminal Damage to Property
Officers were dispatched to an Oconee Street address at approximately 1:08 a.m. May 2 in reference to shots being fired in the area. As officers patrolled the area, a second call came in from Pritchard Street in reference to a bullet coming into an apartment. Upon inspection, the officers discovered that the bullet traveled through the bedroom wall, out of the children’s bedroom wall, into the hall striking a linen closet door, finally hitting the living room wall and falling to the floor. After checking the trajectory of the bullets, the location where they were fired from was behind an empty residence of Oconee Street.
Driving Under the Influence
A man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after an officer initiated a traffic stop for traveling at a very slow speed May 3. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer could immediately smell a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from within the vehicle. The road side Alco-sensor test indicated that the driver was over the legal limit to operate the vehicle.
