MILLEDGEVILLE — Simple Battery

An employee of a North Columbia Street grocery store reported being assaulted by a man while at work Aug. 3. The victim stated that the man went to his job and met him outside the front entrance of the grocery store. After a verbal altercation ensued, the man pushed the victim in the chest, trying to start a fight.

Theft by Shoplifting

A store manager of the North Columbia Street Big Lots reported the theft of items by a man at approximately 7:48 p.m. Aug. 4. The man was seen leaving the store with two cans of Sprite from a 12-pack case.

Fraud-Financial Transaction

Officers were dispatched to a North Columbia Street Dollar General Aug. 3 in reference to possible fraud. Upon arrival they met with the complainant, a store manager, who stated that a man tried to use a debit card with another person’s name on it. In an attempt to scan the card for his purchases, the store manager received an alert that she should retrieve the card immediately.

Disorderly Conduct

While patrolling outside of Capital City Aug. 8, an officer heard commotion inside of the club. He then observed the bouncer pushing a man out of the club through the front doors. The bouncer then told the officer that the subject had just hit him in the eye when they were inside of the club. The officer attempted to question the man, but he ignored the officer and continued to walk down South Wayne Street.

Burglary

Officers were dispatched to a North Wilkinson Street apartment Aug. 6 in reference to a theft. Upon arrival they met with the complainant who stated that when returning to his residence he discovered that someone had stolen his Xbox 360 game console. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment.

Criminal Damage to Property

A man reported damage to his vehicle while it was parked at his West McIntosh Street address Aug. 4. He stated that he parked the vehicle around midnight. Sometime between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. when he returned to his vehicle there were noticeable scratches on the hood.
